This program was developed by two middle school students, Evie and Nicholas, who love chess and want to share their passion with other kids.
The program was created during the 2020 pandemic that changed the lives of children all over the world.
With chess, even a pandemic, can't stop kids from making a move!

In Chess , you win or lose, right? But you always learn from each game. Playing chess gives you some advantages. It improves your patience, thinking, and persistence. It is also fun. At the same time, chess is related to life. Each move bringing you through your life. An incorrect move in chess is like a mistake in life, and a comeback in chess is like a solution in life.
Our mission is to teach chess to kids grades K-5 who don't know how to play chess for free. We want to share our fun playing chess with them, so we decided to create Checkmate FORKids.
